Muslim Funeral Insurance
Specialist insurance for Islamic funeral directors. Proudly designed to support Muslim burial practices, centred on what’s required by law and essential to trading.
What is Muslim Funeral Insurance?
Muslim Funeral Insurance, sometimes referred to as Muslim Burial Insurance, is specialist cover designed to support businesses involved in Islamic funerals across the UK. It offers protection tailored to the needs, practices and sensitivities of Muslim burials. Otherwise known as Janazah insurance for funeral providers, it helps safeguard your premises, vehicles, staff and equipment while respecting the requirements of Islamic funeral rites.
Because Janazah services often involve rapid preparation, specific washing and shrouding procedures, and faith‑aligned transport arrangements, standard business insurance may leave gaps. Muslim Funeral Insurance ensures you have cover that reflects your faith, your responsibilities and the unique demands of providing dignified Islamic funeral care.
For providers seeking Muslim Funeral Insurance in the UK, this specialist cover helps ensure both legal compliance and faith‑aligned protection.

Frequently asked questions
How do claims work with Muslim Funeral Insurance?
If something goes wrong, you contact your broker or insurer as soon as possible, and they’ll guide you through the claims process from start to finish. You’ll usually be asked for key details about what happened, any supporting documents, and information about the people, vehicles or property involved.
Because Islamic funeral services often operate to tight timescales and faith‑specific requirements, specialist insurers handle claims quickly, discreetly and with an understanding of Janazah practices. Whether it’s an issue with a vehicle, your premises, equipment or liability, your broker will manage the process on your behalf and keep you updated until everything is resolved.
How is Howden’s Muslim Funeral Insurance tailored to Islamic burial practices?
Howden’s Muslim Funeral Insurance is built around the specific needs of Islamic burial services, offering cover that aligns with faith principles, Janazah requirements and the practical realities of running a Muslim funeral home. Every element is designed to be lawful, necessary and supportive of the religious duties involved in Islamic funerals.
This policy is built around what you actually need. It covers what’s required to trade safely and legally, without adding unnecessary or speculative extras. This approach aligns with Islamic principles and legal requirements. To support this, we also offer an interest free payment option*, with premiums split into three instalments and no riba, which can be especially helpful for community or charitable services.
It’s designed with the time-sensitive nature of Janazah in mind, where burials often take place the same day or within 24 hours.
Motor cover includes loss of use protection for hearses and private ambulances, with no daily hire limit (where justified) and a strong focus on getting replacement vehicles in place quickly. This helps you continue your service without delay.
We understand that many Muslim funeral services are run through mosques, charities, and volunteer teams. The policy reflects this, with flexible underwriting for volunteers, interest free instalments, and an understanding of non-profit structures and cash flow pressures.
Vehicle cover is tailored to Islamic funeral practices. It includes hearses, limousines, and private ambulances, European cover for repatriation, and collection of the deceased as a core use.
Our service is delivered with cultural understanding. Our specialist team works closely with the Muslim burial sector, understands how community organisations operate, and provides fast quotes that support the urgency of Janazah arrangements.
*Terms & Conditions
A credit check is carried out on every business we insure. Interest‑free instalments are only available to clients with a minimum ‘Good’ Experian credit score (shown as green on the result).
Your annual premium is split into three equal instalments. Howden does not collect payments automatically, so you must ensure the first instalment is paid before the policy starts or renews. The second and third instalments must then be paid one calendar month apart.
If an instalment is missed, we will issue a notice of intention to cancel your cover within 7 days by Recorded Delivery. If payment is made within those 7 days, cancellation will not go ahead.
Interest‑free instalments are optional. You can choose to pay your full premium upfront instead.
