Do military vehicles need insurance?
Military vehicles used exclusively for military purposes are exempt from the legal requirement of having motor insurance, whereas military vehicles used for non-military purposes, such as support vehicles or those involved in community engagement activities, or surplus military vehicles that have been decommissioned and used on public roads, require a specific type of insurance.
The details of such insurance would depend almost entirely on how the vehicle was used. But what we can say for sure is that for those who wish to operate military vehicles on UK public roads, they’re subject to the same insurance requirements that are necessary for a standard car.
That’s where we can help. We know military vehicles understand the passion that military vehicle owners and collectors have for their vehicles, and that’s why we can provide a personal, tailored service which focuses on helping you get our best value military vehicle insurance, designed to suit your needs and your budget. From Jeeps to Tanks to Gun Carriages and Limbers, our team are there to discuss your requirements in detail.
Policy benefits may include
Due to the wide range of ex-military vehicles and equipment on the market today, we understand that each military vehicle insurance risk can be different. We’ll talk you through your requirements and look at each quote individually to ensure that the cover you require matches your demands and needs.
