Howden, the new name for Cherished Vehicle Insurance and RH Specialist Insurance
Welcome to Howden
As of November 3rd 2025, Howden Insurance is the new name for Cherished Vehicle Insurance and RH Specialist Insurance.
Both Cherished Vehicle Insurance and RH Specialist Insurance have been part of Howden Group since 2022 and 2016 respectively.
The purpose behind the acquisition of these two brands was to allow us to offer a wide range of services, particularly relating to classic motor policies. Bringing these brands together also enables us to simplify processes for clients, whilst also providing the same comprehensive service under the Howden umbrella.
For Cherished Vehicle Insurance and RH Specialist Insurance’s clients, the service remains the same, via their usual contacts, and their phone numbers and email addresses continue to work.

Information about the relationship between A-Plan Holdings and Howden
Back in September 2020 it was announced that Howden, the international insurance broking group, had reached agreement to acquire A-Plan Group, one of the UK’s largest personal and commercial lines insurance brokers, in a bid to create a new UK broking powerhouse.
The new partnership brings together Howden’s leading specialty and reinsurance business and A-Plan Group’s best-in-class personal and commercial lines expertise which it delivers via its established brands. One of these established brands is A-Plan Insurance, which re-branded to Howden Insurance in October 2023.
