Actor Tilda Swinton, broadcaster Stephen Fry and model Claudia Schiffer among the celebrities supporting Art at the Park.

Art at the Park, supported by Howden, starts on February 1 with more than 60 artists exhibiting work in aid of Home-Start Essex.

As a further fund-raiser, exhibiting artists, celebrities and children supported by Home Start Essex, have all contributed a postcard with their artistic creation to the ‘Postcards for Home Start’ raffle.

Visitors to Braxted Park, near Witham, Essex, can see all 150 postcards displayed in the Billiard Room.

The tickets, £25 (or £100 for five), can only be bought at the exhibition so come along to enjoy the art and enter the postcard raffle which will be drawn on Sunday, February 4, just before the show closes.

Celebrity contributions include actors Tilda Swinton, Pip Torrens and Robert Bathurst, broadcaster Stephen Fry, entrepreneur Johnnie Boden, Chef Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools, ex-England cricketer David Gower, model Claudia Schiffer, reality TV stars Gareth and Ollie Locke (Made in Chelsea), holder of the land speed record Andy Green, fashion designer Anya Hindmarch and children’s author and illustrator Nicola Smee.

The children from Home-Start who have contributed postcards are from Home-Start Family Groups which meet weekly in locations around Essex.

Home-Start Essex aims to give children the best possible start in life by supporting parents and carers to feel less isolated, to build their confidence and to find ways to manage the challenges they face. Trusting relationships with families are created through a range of flexible support including volunteer-led home visiting, family groups, wellbeing services, school-readiness and behaviour support programmes.

Howden Private Clients Director Julie Webb says: “We are proud to support Home-Start through Art at the Park and I look forward to inviting my art-loving clients to Braxted Park, a beautiful country house in Essex. Art at the Park will be such an exciting event, featuring so many incredibly talented artists – and the postcards raffle will add to the fun and funds.”

Insurance advice

If you own an item with special provenance, be sure to add the information to your insurance policy as this could impact its value. Retain the invoice, paperwork, photographs and serial number (if relevant) as effective record-keeping is an essential part of building a collection.

You will need to keep up to date with its value, as in the event of a claim you don’t want to realise you’re underinsured. It’s also important to decide upon the basis of valuation. Most times it should be for insurance purposes, but in some circumstances you may be able to insure at auction value, although bear in mind that what you agree may be the most you get back.

To speak to Howden about your insurance, please call 020 8256 4901 or email privateclients@howdeninsurance.co.uk
